EMDR stands for
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing

EMDR is a form of trauma therapy that is based on the work of Dr. Francine Shapiro. It involves having the client briefly focus on the trauma memory while undergoing bilateral stimulation which typically includes eye movements and sound.

During this process a individual’s distress related to traumatic memory decreases and often becomes desensitized. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing is suitable for trauma, anxiety, depression, and other clinical diagnoses. With EMDR, I assist clients to release traumatic somatic experiences and shame based beliefs that are often relived due to internal and external triggers. These sessions range from sixty to ninety minutes. Contact me for a free ten-minute consultation to see how I can help you reduce intrusive emotions, memories, and thoughts around traumatic experiences.
